AFSCME is truly a democratic union.  AFSCME is run by its members, with over 90,000 members in Michigan Council 25 and 1.3 million nationally.  Workers of virtually all public service occupations (as well as private sector and non-profit workers) can be assured they will find a specialized voice for their needs within AFSCME.
